Sumtracker and LineNow address overlapping inventory and purchasing problems, with different evaluation starting points. Sumtracker presents stock synchronization, bundles, forecasting and replenishment for Shopify and Amazon businesses. Check Sumtracker’s current product information.
We make LineNow. Our Shopify purchasing workflow focuses on connecting the buying decision to supplier packs, changed confirmations, partial receipts and invoice context. The decision should follow the operating problem your team needs to solve.
When stock synchronization leads the evaluation
If your stock is sold across channels or as bundles, begin by defining the inventory relationships. A supplier purchase, a warehouse count, a bundle sale and a channel update represent different events. The team needs to know which record each event changes.
Use an illustrative catalog with one bottle sold individually and also included in a kit. Buy that bottle from a supplier in cases. Before a trial, write down the expected quantity changes for:
- Receiving a case at the warehouse.
- Selling an individual bottle.
- Selling a kit containing that bottle.
- Returning a kit with one unusable component.
- Correcting a physical count.
Have Sumtracker demonstrate the channel and bundle behavior you need. For LineNow, verify the exact supported catalog, component and location relationships during setup; do not assume a purchasing integration reproduces a dedicated channel-sync or bundle application.
When supplier coordination leads the evaluation
A clean channel stock balance does not tell the buyer whether the supplier confirmed next week’s delivery. Test that separate problem with an order whose price or quantity changes after sending.
In LineNow, supported supplier emails can produce reviewable PO updates. The buyer checks the source message and changed commitment together. The warehouse records what arrived and the remaining quantity stays with the order. The Whitmans customer story illustrates the value of maintaining supplier packs, prices and replies across a broad catalog.
Ask Sumtracker to show how its purchasing and receiving process handles the same exception. A feature description cannot establish how much manual coordination your particular workflow will require.
Choose the stock and accounting owners
Draw the record flow before connecting multiple applications:
- Where is sellable stock maintained by channel and location?
- Where is a physical receipt entered?
- Which integration writes the resulting stock adjustment?
- Where are supplier price changes reviewed?
- Which application creates the bill?
Two applications recording the same physical receipt can inflate stock. Two accounting connectors creating the same bill can duplicate the payable. A successful pilot should prove one receipt and one bill through the agreed path.
If QuickBooks Online is involved, use the LineNow accounting handoff explanation to scope purchase and receipt evidence. Inventory value, freight allocation and accounting treatment still need explicit decisions.
Choosing after Stocky
If Stocky’s discontinuation prompted the search, preserve history and reconcile open supplier quantities before setting up replacement purchases. The Stocky migration guide gives a checklist. It does not assume a one-to-one historical import into either product.
Give Sumtracker a detailed trial when cross-channel stock, bundles and replenishment drive the decision. Evaluate LineNow when the repeated difficulty is keeping supplier orders, changes and receipts coordinated. Compare current LineNow plans and Sumtracker’s offer against the complete setup, then use the Shopify software shortlist if another category fits better.
